As per dealer sources, the 2024 Mahindra Thar waiting period ranges from about 2 months to roughly 3 months. This is a significant reduction in waiting time from what was as high as a year earlier. Here’s the configuration-wise waiting period.

It is to be noted that the actual waiting period might vary depending on the variant choice, powertrain option, colour chosen, and the Mahindra dealership opted for.

Mahindra Thar engine options

Mahindra offers three engine options for the 2024 Mahindra Thar — a 1.5-litre diesel engine paired to a 6-speed manual transmission, a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque convertor, and a 2.2-litre diesel paired to the same set of transmissions as the turbo-petrol. The smaller diesel engine is only available in a 4X2 configuration, the bigger diesel engine is only available in a 4X4 configuration, while the turbo-petrol can be had with either of them.
