- 3Most powerful road-legal Ferrari till date
‘Everybody is a Ferrari fan’, asserted a certain Sebastian Vettel a few years ago. There’s no denying the fact that carmakers like Pagani and Koenigsegg have made some extraordinary machines over the past few years, but the appeal around the Ferrari brand is somehow still unmatched. People take note when Ferrari rolls out a new model, and we’re here to talk just about that. Here’s a story about the new Ferrari F80.
New Ferrari F80
The Ferrari F80 is the latest hypercar from Maranello, and is the successor to the Ferrari LaFerrari. It also happens to be the most powerful road legal Ferrari till date, boasting a maximum power output of a mad 1200 horses. Ferrari claims that it has planned to make 799 examples of the new F80.
Ferrari F80 powertrain & performance
At the back of the F80 sits a 3.0-litre V6 engine that is mated to three electric motors — two on the front axle and one on the rear. It gets an F1-sourced 8-speed dual-clutch ‘box and has a maximum combined power output of 1217PS! The top speed of the F80 is claimed to be 350kmph and the car can do 100kmph from naught in just about 2.15 seconds. Do you mind the six-cylinder now, eh?

Inside the cockpit
Ferrari calls the F80 a ‘1+’ rather than a 2-seater due to the unique layout of the cabin. The designers have followed a driver-centric approach, with all the controls angled towards the driver. The co-driver seat blends in with the rest of the interior and the driver seat stands out, thanks to the colour & trim designers. The co-driver seat also skips on any adjustment.
The gear shifters resemble the look of a gated-manual, and the steering wheel gets some of its buttons and physical controls back, which is a much welcome design. The designers have aimed to make the Ferrari F80 look purely original from the inside and avoid anything nostalgic, a bold approach indeed.

Ferrari F80 price and number of units
According to the Oxford Dictionary, an offer means, ‘to ask if somebody would like something or to give somebody the chance to have something’. In this very context, the Ferrari isn’t really an offering anymore, as all of the 799 units have been spoken for. If you’re still curious about the price, well, it’s about $ 4 million (base price). By the way, Porsche, (with the McLaren W1 too in the town), we’re looking at you!
