Isuzu Motors India crosses 1 lakh units production milestone in eight years

Isuzu is one of the earliest automakers, with the origins of the company dating back to 1934. But that’s not how we know Isuzu. We know it as a newer company that came to India just a few years back with SUVs and pickup trucks. News is that Isuzu has completed the production of over 1 lakh units of SUVs and trucks at its manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh. Here’s more information about the same.

Isuzu production milestone

In a span of eight years after establishment of its manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, Isuzu Motors India has produced over 1 lakh units of SUVs and trucks in India. Isuzu makes both vehicles as well as engines at this plant. The 1,00,000th vehicle to roll out of the production line was an Isuzu D-Max V-Cross pickup truck.

Rajesh Mittal, President & MD, Isuzu Motors India, said, “At Isuzu Motors India, we take immense pride in our journey here in India. Over the years, the company has achieved significant milestones in both production and exports. One key highlight is that, around 22% of our production line workforce comprises talented women. Additionally, 100% of our production workforce are diploma engineers and they make world-class vehicles adhering to the same global standards of Isuzu’s manufacturing and operational excellence. This has enabled us to become the leading exporter of commercial vehicles from India. Isuzu has a lineup of vehicles on sale in India, catering to both commercial and domestic users. These include the Isuzu mu-X SUV, Isuzu V-Cross pickup truck, Isuzu Hi-Lander pickup truck, Isuzu S-Cab Z pickup truck, Isuzu S-Cab pickup truck, Isuzu D-Max pickup truck, and the new Isuzu D-Max Ambulance.
