First electric Skoda coming to India in September 2025 — All details

Skoda India showcased a slew of its cars at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025, including its electric range of cars. The carmaker has been contemplating its EV innings in the Indian market for a few years now but nothing has been materialized yet. However, a new report claims that Skoda will launch its first-ever electric car in India in September 2025. Read on to know more about the upcoming Skoda electric car in India.

Skoda finally beginning with its EV plan

In an interaction with Autocar Professional, Skoda India’s brand director, Petr Janeba, said, “Our first electric SUV is coming by September latest”. It is worth mentioning that Petr Janeba didn’t give any details on the model the carmaker is planning to bring to the Indian market. However, looking at the global lineup of Skoda EVs and their timeline, the Enyaq is the most obvious choice for the Indian market. Hence, we expect the Skoda Enyaq to be the first Skoda EV in India, followed by other future models including the Elroq and other locally-produced models.

Skoda Enyaq EV details

The Skoda Enyaq was Skoda’s first electric offering in the global space and recently received a mid-lifecycle facelift. The Enyaq SUV is already on sale in multiple global markets and is available in standard and coupe bodystyles. The Enyaq shares its underpinnings, batteries and motors with the Volkswagen ID.4, which is another model in contention for the Indian market. The updated Skoda Enyaq comes with an 82kWh battery pack that channels power to single or dual motors, depending on the configuration. Furthermore, the Enyaq offers a WLTP-certified range of 586km on a single charge.

Upcoming Skoda cars in India

In addition to the Skoda electric car, the Czech carmaker has lined up a long list of car launches in the coming years. The first and arguably the most important one happens to be the Skoda Kodiaq, which is lined up to be launched this year. The Skoda Kodiaq will be brought to the Indian market via the CKD route and offered in multiple variants. Next up, other launches in the line-up include the new Superb, Octavia vRS and Elroq EV, all of which are said to be launched in India in the coming years.

In addition, the carmaker will also update its existing range of India 2.0 cars, namely the Kushaq and Slavia. Both the Kushaq and Slavia will receive their respective facelifts in the coming years, in order to maintain a healthy competition in the Indian market.
