Citroen C3 Aircross renamed to Citroen Aircross – Gets new features!

Citroen India has renamed its C3 Aircross SUV to just Aircross SUV, demarcating it as a separate entity rather than a part of the C3 lineup. While the term ‘C3’ has been omitted from the name, there have been quite a few additions to the car, mostly in terms of features. But that’s not all, there’s a new powertrain option too! Here’s everything you need to know about the updated Citroen Aircross SUV.

New Citroen Aircross SUV

As we saw with the recently launched Citroen Basalt coupe SUV, the French carmaker has been learning from its mistakes and working towards rectifying them. The approach is also making its way to the current lineup of Citroen cars in India, as is much welcome! The Citroen C3 Aircross has been updated with feature additions, a rechristening process, and the choice of the Puretech 82 engine with a 5-speed manual transmission.

New engine and transmission option

The Citroen C3 Aircross used to come with a single engine option — a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine named Puretech 110. Transmission choices with this engine included a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. Now, the new Citroen Aircross gets the option of a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that is also seen on the Citroen C3. The new Puretech 82 engine comes paired to a 

5-speed manual gearbox.

Citroen Aircross feature additions

The updated Aircross SUV gets some features that were missing from the outgoing models. These include LED projector headlamps, automatic climate control, grab handles on the passenger side, electrically-foldable ORVMs, and rear AC vents. The controls for the windows are now placed on the doors. There’s soft-touch material used on the dashboard, enhancing the feel and look-good factor. Speaking about safety features, the Aircross now comes equipped with six airbags, as opposed to two on the outgoing models, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
