Citroen Basalt India unveil date has been revealed by the French automaker. Being Citroen’s fifth offering for the Indian market, it is expected to be positioned above the Citroen C3 Aircross. Citroen is set to unveil the Basalt to the public on August 2, 2024. While we await more details about the Citroen Basalt ahead of its launch, here’s what we know so far.
Citroen Basalt India Launch Soon
The Citroen Basalt is styled as a coupe SUV, a style which you might associate with the much awaited Tata Curvv. It will be built on the same platform as that of the Citroen C3 Aircross, and is likely to share many features and design elements with the same. The Basalt will feature Citroen’s two-slat grille, with the double-chevron logo at the centre. It will get a sloping roof design and newly-designed alloy wheels.
Citroen Basalt Powertrain
Expected to share its powertrain with the Citroen C3 Aircross, the Citroen Basalt will feature a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which is tuned to generate 110PS of power. This engine produces a peak torque of 190Nm, when paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, and 205Nm, when paired to a 6-speed torque converter.

Citroen Basalt Expected Price
Likely to be positioned above the Citroen C3 Aircross SUV, we expect the Citroen Basalt to be priced in the range of Rs 12-15 Lakhs. We might get to know about the actual price a few days after the unveiling of the Basalt. The media drives will take place in early August. It will rival the upcoming Tata Curvv, and other cars in the segment that it is likely to belong to. These include the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder (and its sister car — Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara), Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq. Quite a long list, isn’t it?
