The Citroen Basalt may not be a new model now, but it's still a fresh addition to the lineup. It was launched last August and comes in three variants—Your, Plus, and Max. Now, a new option is set to be added, as the Citroen Basalt Dark Edition has just been teased by the carmaker. This new edition is expected to be based on the top variant. Citroen Basalt Dark edition
The Citroen Basalt Dark Edition, as the name suggests, will come with an all-black theme. While the exterior design won't see major changes, we can expect a bold black finish on the front, ORVMs, alloy wheels, and rear section. The interior is also expected to follow the all-dark theme, including the dashboard, leather seats, ceiling, Dark Edition lettering, and more. Apart from this, the feature range will remain the same, depending on the variant it’s based on.

The price of the Citroen Basalt Dark Edition is expected to be slightly higher—around Rs 25,000 to Rs 35,000 more—than the top variant, the Max, which starts at Rs 12.49 lakh.

The Citroen Basalt Dark Edition is expected to come with the familiar naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. There’s also a 1.2L turbo petrol engine, which could be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. However, it’s still unclear if both gearbox options will be available in the Dark Edition.
