Citroen Aircross crash test results out — Secures 0 stars in Latin NCAP
- 1Citroen Aircross tested in Latin NCAP was Brazil-spec
- 2It lacks standard safety features, including the essential six airbags
- 3Indian version comes equipped with six airbags, seatbelt reminders, ESP, and more
The Citroen Aircross Latin crash test result is out, and sadly, the model received a zero-star rating, showing poor performance in safety tests. This disappointing result is largely due to the lack of some basic safety features in the tested unit. However, it’s worth mentioning that the model used for the test wasn’t the India-spec version. Instead, it was a Brazil-spec unit specifically tested for Latin NCAP.
Let’s dive deeper into the Citroen Aircross crash test results to understand what went wrong. We’ll also look at how the Indian version stands in terms of safety features. Read on for a simple and detailed breakdown.
Citroen Aircross adult occupants protection
Under the Latin NCAP, the Citroen Aircross adult occupants protection scored 13.20 points, which is 33% of the total. This score includes various tests, such as the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier test, where it achieved 9.83 out of 16 points.
In the Whiplash Rear Impact test, it scored 0 out of 3. For the Side Movable Deformable Barrier test, the vehicle earned 7.37 out of 8 points. However, the Side Pole Impact test was not conducted.
Citroen Aircross child occupant protection
The Citroen Aircross child occupant protection result scored only 5.57 points, which is just 11%. This includes a Dynamic score of 0 out of 24, a CRS Installation Score of 3.57 out of 12, and a Vehicle Assessment score of 2 out of 13.
According to the Latin NCAP, both CRSs offered full protection, but most of the CRSs tested for installation failed. The Aircross comes with ISOFIX anchorages as standard, but the marking does not meet Latin NCAP criteria.
It was further mentioned that the airbag warning for rearward CRSs installed in the passenger seat does not meet Latin NCAP requirements. Additionally, the car lacks a passenger airbag disconnection feature.

Citroen Aircross pedestrian protection & safety assist
The Citroen Aircross pedestrian protection scored 23.79 points in the safety tests. This final score includes 13.68 out of 24 for head impact, 4.12 out of 6 for upper leg impact (pelvis), and 6.00 out of 6 for lower leg impact (leg).
The results for the safety assist system were also underwhelming, with a score of just 15 points, or 34.88%. According to Latin NCAP, the Brazil-manufactured Citroen Aircross missed the standard seat belt reminder, which contributed to its 0 score in this area.
Latin NCAP also reported that the Citroen Aircross only offers the seat belt reminder for the driver and lacks standard features such as speed assistance or speed limitation systems. Additionally, it does not provide blind spot detection, lane support system, rear-end detection, or AEB Interurban.

It also includes seatbelt reminders with buzzers for both the driver and co-driver, rear seatbelt reminders, high-speed alerts at 80 km/h and 120 km/h, reverse parking sensors, and ISOFIX seat anchorages. These features are available as standard in the India version of the Citroën Aircross.
