Kushaq Onyx Edition Automatic Variant: Here’s What It Offers!
For starters, the new Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition price in India starts from Rs 13.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it the cheapest Skoda automatic car in India. At this price, this new Skoda SUV offers a relatively less feature-packed package for customers with a budget constraint. Skoda introduced the Onyx Edition Kushaq last year in India but it was only offered with a 1-litre TSI engine option and a manual gearbox. With the launch of the new 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox option, the Kushaq Onyx edition is positioned as a value-for-money SUV but with the comfort and convenience of the reliable automatic transmission. This variant will specifically be loved by the customers with higher city usage. The 6-speed AT gearbox on the Kushaq is a tried and tested unit that is reliable and cheap to maintain in the long run.
Other major highlights of the Onyx Edition Kushaq include LED projector headlights, steel rims with wheel caps, and roof rails. Mind you, the LED headlight setup is carried from the top-spec Ambition trims. Moreover, a rear defogger and a wiper are also offered on this variant, hence, the VFM tag is enhanced on the Onyx Edition. On the inside, Skoda is offering a touch AC panel with auto AC. There is also a small 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Being an automatic means, some added safety features are now available as well. These include a hill hold assist and paddle shifters. Both of these features come in handy during tricky road situations. The 1.0L turbo-petrol engine on the Kushaq is an award-winning motor and produces a healthy power output of 114bhp and a peak torque of 178Nm. For those wondering, the Skoda Kushaq automatic mileage hovers around 15-18kmpl during everyday use. Some of the primary rivals of Kushaq Onyx Edition at this price point include the Maruti Suzuki Brezza VXI AT, Kia Seltos IVT, and Hyundai Venue 1.0L DCT.
