Best-Selling Tata cars in India - Reign of the Tata Punch

Tata Motors seems to find its way to the top of the sales charts with innovative strategies and products. Tata Punch ranked first on the list of Tata’s best-selling cars in India. The Safari and Harrier took over the Tigor this month, ranking at fifth and sixth spots respectively. Here’s a list of the best-selling Tata cars in India over the past 6 months.

Tata Punch

Tata Punch has taken the market with storme, being at the top of not just Tata’s but India’s passenger vehicle sales charts. Tata Motors sold 1,05,656 units of the Punch in the last six months, which translates to an average of roughly 17,600 Punches every month. The Punch is available in both petrol and CNG, as well as an electric version.

Tata Nexon

While the Tata Nexon has also been a hot-selling car for Tata, it has been left quite far away by the Punch. Tata sold 74,940 units of the Tata Nexon over the last six months, averaging at 12,490 units per month. The Tata Nexon is offered with a variety of powertrain options including petrol, diesel and electric. There’s a Nexon CNG just around the corner too.

Tata Tiago

While the Tiago might not be talked about much, it has secured the third spot in the list of top-selling Tata cars in India when we look at last six months’ data. Tata sold 34,676 Tiago during this period, averaging at about 5,779 units a month. Popular Tata Tiago rivals include Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.

Tata Altroz

Tata’s sleek-looking hatchback, the Tata Altroz, also found a spot in this list, selling 26,528 units over the past six months. This translates to an average of around 4,421 units per month. Tata also came up with a sportier version of the Altroz recently, titled Tata Altroz Racer, to compete with the Hyundai i20 N-Line and Maruti Suzuki Fronx Turbo.

Tata Safari

While the fifth spot in this list was occupied by the Tata Tigor last month, the Safari and Harrier have reclaimed their spots by selling more units than the Tigor in August 2024. Tata sold 10,894 units of the Safari, making it secure the fifth spot. The Harrier and Tigor weren’t behind by a big margin though, selling 10,665 and 10,283 units respectively.
