Best selling Skoda cars in India - A clear horizon?

Skoda India has been selling about 4,100 cars every month, while its sister-company, Volkswagen India, sells around 3,700. Most of Skoda’s sales comes from the Kushaq and Slavia, with Kushaq leading the pack. Here’s a list of the best selling Skoda cars in India over the past six months, including the latest data for February 2025.

Skoda Kushaq

The Kushaq has fared as Skoda India’s most selling car, selling 1,911 more units than the Slavia over the past six months. The Kushaq comes with two engine options — 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI. Skoda Kushaq rivals include Honda Elevate, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and of course, the Taigun.

Skoda Slavia 

Unlike Volkswagen, the sedan has been left behind by the Kushaq in the list of the highest selling Skoda cars in India. Sitting at the second spot, the Skoda Slavia comes with the same set of powertrains as seen on the Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and Volkswagen Virtus. Popular Skoda Slavia rivals include Volkswagen Virtus, Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. 

Skoda Kylaq

The Kylaq has made it to the third spot in the list of highest selling Skoda cars in India, with 1,242 units dispatched in January 2025, and 3,636 in February 2025. It is expected to make it to the top of the list in the next few months, given the high demand for cars in the segment that it plays in and the value that it proposes to offer.

Skoda Kodiaq

Skoda Kodiaq, the Czech carmaker’s flagship SUV in India, garnered 788 units of sales over the last six months, averaging around 130 units a month. The Kodiaq comes equipped with a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine paired to a 7-speed DSG. It comes in an AWD configuration and rivals cars such as Volkswagen Tiguan, Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Hyundai Tucson and the new Nissan X-Trail. The second generation Skoda Kodiaq was showcased at the Auto Expo 2025, and will soon be launched in the country.

Skoda Superb

Being a CBU, the current Skoda Superb is outrageously expensive, carrying a price tag that starts at Rs 54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Skoda India still managed to find 31 buyers for the Superb over the last six months, with one car dispatched in February 2025. The Superb features the same powertrain as that of the Kodiaq, but comes in a FWD configuration. Interestingly, the next generation Skoda Superb diesel was showcased at the Expo as well, and it is being considered for an India launch.
