Kia Motors, a relatively new player in the Indian automotive market, has been achieving numbers that are making established automakers run for their money. Kia India has been averaging around 21,600 units every month over the past 6 months. While the Sonet has contributed the most to this figure, the Seltos and Carens have also done justice to the brand. A new entrant has also joined the ranks — the all-new Kia Carnival — and it’s already sold out for the next few months. Here’s a list of the top best-selling Kia cars in India over the past 6 months.

Kia Sonet

Kia India’s sub-compact SUV has been the best-seller for the South Korean carmaker, averaging around 9,450 units a month. Available with multiple powertrain options and visual themes, the Kia Sonet caters to a wide audience of car buyers. The Kia Sonet rivals include Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Nissan Magnite, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, and the new Skoda Kylaq.

Kia Seltos

Kia Seltos was the car that introduced Kia to the Indian audience, and has been doing well for the brand ever since. Kia sold 38,249 units of the compact SUV over the past 6 months, making it Kia’s second best-selling car in India. For reference, Hyundai Creta sales over the same period stood at 98,466 units, Grand Vitara at 62,183 units, and the MG Astor at 5,322 units.

Kia Carens

Kia Carens stands at a close third in the list of the top-selling Kia cars in India. Kia India sold 34,631 Kia Carens over the last six months, averaging around 5,750 cars a month. The Kia Carens is a well-sorted package, which goes against the likes of Hyundai Alcazar, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Maruti Suzuki XL6.

Kia Carnival

The Carnival is the newest entrant to join this list, after recently being relaunched in the Indian market. Available in just one trim — Limousine Plus — the new Carnival is already sold out for customers for the next few months. Kia sold 255 units of the Carnival in October 2024.

Kia EV6

Erstwhile Kia India’s flagship car, the EV6 is now its entry-level electric vehicle, featuring a starting price of Rs 60.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Kia EV6 sales stood at 156 units over the last 6 months, with 50 units sold last month. It comes in two configurations — GT-Line and GT-Line AWD. 

Kia EV9

The sales numbers for October 2024 do not include the number of Kia EV9s sold as the figures given in the table refer to factory dispatches made to the dealerships and not the actual number of units sold to the end customer.
