All-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class electric sedan incoming — Check all details!

Mercedes-Benz hasn’t been doing very well on the sales front, with its electric cars such as the EQS and EQE underperforming as compared to projected numbers. Electric vehicle sales were down in FY24 from FY23. The carmaker has also outlined its plan for the next few years, with key announcements such as an upcoming Mercedes-Benz E-Class electric sedan. Here’s more information about the same.

Upcoming electric Mercedes-Benz cars 

The German carmaker is aiming to make the lines between its ICE range of cars and electric range of cars thinner, just like we saw with the new Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ technology. Unlike current models that are poles apart both mechanically and styling-wise, the future cars and SUVs will look more alike across fuel options. 

Upcoming Mercedes-Benz CLA

We recently saw the Mercedes Concept CLA at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Auto Expo, and it will soon be launched globally this year in both electric and hybrid powertrain options. It is based on the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) platform, which will underpin a series of future Mercedes-Benz models.

New Mercedes-Benz electric E-Class

An all-electric version of the famed Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be launched in 2027, as cited by the carmaker at its Capital Day Presentation. It is expected to have a stark resemblance to the new gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class that was recently launched in India, and will be sold alongside the current model, and will be very different from the Mercedes-Benz EQE electric sedan. 

Upcoming Mercedes-Benz cars 

Other notable upcoming cars and SUVs from the German brand include an S-Class facelift that will arrive in 2026, a baby G-Class, and an all-electric GLC. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class electric will arrive later, expected by the year 2030. Notably, amidst all the action around EVs, Mercedes is bringing back its V8 engine into the C 63 AMG, which was earlier replaced by a four-cylinder motor.

Mercedes-Benz electric cars in India

Currently, Mercedes-Benz sells a lineup of electric cars and SUVs in India — EQS sedan, EQA SUV, EQB SUV, EQE SUV, EQS SUV, Maybach EQS SUV, and the G-Class electric, previously known as the EQG SUV. There are also special editions such as the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV 680 Night Series that are also on sale.
