2025 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line India launch confirmed — Everything you need to know!

Skoda has been planning to bring a few of its global-spec models to India in the following months such as the Skoda Superb, Skoda Octavia vRS, and Skoda Octavia diesel. Its sister-brand — Volkswagen — also has similar plans, with confirmed launches for two of its products — VW Golf GTI and VW Tiguan R-Line. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line SUV. 

Upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line

The R-Line is the top-of-the-line trim of the Volkswagen Tiguan. While the current model that is on sale in India is in its second generation guise, the new Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line will be based on the third-generation model that was launched globally in 2024. 

New Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line design

The third generation Tiguan follows a more curvier approach to panel styling than the current second generation model that is being sold in India. There’s a slimmer front grille with a thin LED bar that connects the headlamps. The grille down below is specific to the R-Line trim and features a diamond pattern. The rear face also gets connected lights with TIGUAN badging placed lower on the boot lid.

2025 Volkswagen Tiguan interior and features

The dashboard features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with R-Line-specific touches to distinguish it from the regular Tiguan. Key Volkswagen Tiguan features include an 8-speaker sound system, a 12.9-inch floating touchscreen setup, R-Line-specific front sport seats, heated steering wheel, auto-dimming IRVM, three-zone climate control, and more. Key Volkswagen Tiguan safety features include disc brakes for all four wheels, ISOFIX child seat mounts, six airbags, hill-start assist, ADAS functionalities, and more.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line engine details

The global-spec Tiguan R-Line is available in multiple engine and gearbox combinations with petrol, hybrid, and diesel powertrain options. The India-spec model is likely to come equipped with a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine paired to a 7-speed DSG and VW’s 4Motion AWD system.

2025 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line India launch timeline

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line launch in India has been confirmed to take place in the second quarter of 2025. It will be launched in the neighbourhood of the new Volkswagen Golf GTI. Both these upcoming new cars in India will arrive via the CBU route.
