2025 Suzuki Swift Sport New Details Revealed Ahead Of Launch

The Suzuki Swift Sport is one of the most popular Japanese hot hatchbacks. While the new Swift has arrived in its 4th-generation globally, Suzuki is yet to sprinkle its Sport magic to the new Swift. A few reports have emerged online, giving an overview of the upcoming Swift Sport. If these reports are to be believed, the new Swift Sport will get a new 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a 48V electric motor. Read on to know more about the 2025 Suzuki Swift Sport.

2025 Suzuki Swift Sport Design

Starting with the design, the rendered images of the new Swift Sport reveal key design elements of the upcoming hot hatch. Needless to say, the new Swift Sport will resemble the design of the 4th-gen Swift, albeit with a lot more sporty touches all around. At the front, the Swift Sport is likely to feature a larger radiator grille with a honeycomb mesh, larger air ducts to feed air to the engine and a front splitter. The bumper could also feature a sportier design with cuts and creases. Around the side, the stance could be lower thanks to a different suspension setup along with side skirting. At the rear, the new Swift Sport is likely to feature its signature dual exhaust tips along with the Swift Sport badging on the boot lid.

2025 Suzuki Swift Sport Underpinning

Speaking of the Swift Sport’s underpinnings, it is likely to share its Heartect platform with the regular model. However, reports claim that the new Swift Sport will further shave off some weight, given its astronomically low body weight of 970kg in the current generation. Since the platform is likely to remain the same, we expect the Swift Sport to continue with its flickable driving feel and agile handling, that everyone loves about the current Swift Sport sold globally.

Coming to the engine, the new Suzuki Swift Sport is said to feature a new 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, codenamed K14D. The updated engine will come with a 48V electric motor hybrid assist, which could offer up to 14PS of additional power to the engine. While the engine already does duty on the current Swift Sport, Suzuki could retune the engine for better performance than before. Now coming to the best part, Suzuki will continue to offer the Swift Sport with a 6-speed manual transmission, alongside a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Next-Gen Suzuki Swift Sport India Launch?

While every enthusiast wants to see Maruti Suzuki launch the Swift Sport at an attractive price tag, the Japanese carmaker doesn’t find a market big enough for a special product like the Swift Sport. Maruti Suzuki considered the current-gen Swift Sport on multiple occasions and it was also spotted on test several times but the plans saw the light of the day. At this point, India doesn’t have any affordable hot hatchbacks, except for the Hyundai i20 N Line and Tata Altroz Racer, which are faster versions of the regular models than full-blown hot hatchbacks.
