2025 Renault Triber CNG India launch likely soon — Ertiga CNG alternative

The Indian arm of the French carmaker is desperate to improve its sales before the new-generation products hit the showrooms in the coming years. We recently saw Renault India launch the 2025 Kiger and Triber, which brought small feature set rejig to the lower variants of the respective products, thereby further sweetening the deal. A new report now suggests that the Renault Kiger CNG and Triber CNG are in the works and on the way to be launched in the Indian market soon. Renault Triber CNG details

The Renault Triber slots between the Renault Kwid and Kiger. It comes with a sole 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. Talking about the Renault Triber CNG engine, we assume the CNG option to come with the naturally-aspirated engine mated to only the 5-speed manual.

The Triber is one of the most-affordable family MPV in the Indian market and a very cost-effective solution to the popular and best-seller Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The introduction of CNG powertrain engine option in the Triber will surely allure buyers from the Ertiga CNG, who are on a lookout for an economic solution for their family runabouts.

The 1.0-litre petrol engine of the Triber delivers 72PS of power and 96Nm of torque in the standard mode. The upcoming Triber CNG is likely to see a considerable dip in power and torque outputs over that of the standard petrol iteration. In turn, it should offer considerably better fuel economy than the Triber petrol. Speaking of the Renault Triber CNG price, it should command a premium between Rs 90,000 - Rs 1 lakh over the respective variants of the Triber petrol. We expect Renault to launch the Triber CNG in the coming months.
