Maruti Suzuki launched the Grand Vitara SUV back in September 2022 in the Indian market. As the Grand Vitara is closing 3 years from its first launch, it is time for a mid-lifecycle facelift. Maruti Grand Vitara facelift design

Needless to say, the upcoming Maruti Grand Vitara facelift will boast a new design on the outside, with multiple elements shared with its 7-seater iteration. While we are yet to catch the Grand Vitara facelift on test, its 7-seater iteration has been spotted multiple times, revealing key details about the upcoming SUV duo.

The Grand Vitara facelift design is likely to get a redesigned front fascia, continuing with split LED headlights, albeit with revised elements. Around the side, the only big change is likely to be a new set of alloy wheels that could measure up to 17-inch in size. Around the back, the Grand Vitara facelift will get a wraparound connected tail light, somewhat similar to that of the Kia EV6. With these changes in place, the Grand Vitara facelift is likely to get a major design refreshment amid the growing competition.

Revamped interior

On the inside, too, expect plenty of changes in terms of the design and trim elements. It remains to be seen how large Maruti Suzuki goes with the design changes on the inside, given that it’s going to be a facelift. Still, we can expect a revamped dashboard layout with improved plastic quality and fit and finish levels, given the latter being a problem in the current model. On the features front, the Grand Vitara is already a feature-packed SUV but the facelifted model could further introduce features like powered driver’s seat and advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS).

2025 Maruti Grand Vitara powertrain options

Coming to the powertrain front, the 2025 Maruti Grand Vitara will continue with the same set of engine options. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara comes powered by a 1.5L strong-hybrid petrol engine with 3 cylinders, delivering 115.56PS of power and 141 Nm of torque. It comes paired with an e-CVT gearbox. The other engine is the 1.5L K15C mild-hybrid petrol option that produces 103.06 PS of power and 136.8 Nm of torque. This variant is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, with the former also offering the option of AWD.

2025 Maruti Grand Vitara facelift launch timeline

Based on the extensive testing done by the carmaker, we expect Maruti Suzuki to launch the Grand Vitara in the first half of 2025. This move should further boost the sales of the Grand Vitara, which already is among the best-selling mid-size SUVs in the country. The Grand Vitara facelift will go against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Honda Elevate, Tata Curvv, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq.
