2025 Maruti Grand Vitara CNG launch soon — 6 airbags as standard

Maruti Suzuki recently launched the updated Grand Vitara in the Indian market, bringing in new features and small cosmetic updates. However, the carmaker silently withdrew the CNG powertrain option from the update. Our reliable sources confirm that an updated Maruti Grand Vitara CNG launch is on the way. The updated Maruti Grand Vitara CNG will continue to come in two variants — Delta and Zeta. We do not expect any big changes in terms of features and powertrain of the Grand Vitara CNG. On the features front, its kit will resemble the features offered in the corresponding petrol variants of the SUV. Furthermore, as part of the update, the new Grand Vitara CNG will no longer come with a spare wheel but puncture repair kit—our sources confirmed.

2025 Maruti Grand Vitara CNG safety features

Like the updated Grand Vitara, the new Grand Vitara CNG will also come with enhanced safety. The biggest change in the Maruti Grand Vitara safety features will be the inclusion of six airbags and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers as a standard fitment across all variants. Other safety features of the Grand Vitara include rear parking camera with sensors, electronic stability program, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system and more. 

Updated Maruti Grand Vitara CNG launch timeline

Our sources confirm that the updated Grand Vitara CNG will launch within the next two months. Select dealerships have already begun accepting unofficial bookings for the Grand Vitara CNG, whereas the older stock of the CNG model (without six airbags) is also available to purchase. The updated Grand Vitara CNG will carry over the same 1.5-litre petrol-CNG powertrain from the outgoing model. It will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and deliver a claimed fuel efficiency of 26.6km/kg on the CNG mode.
