2025 Mahindra XEV 9e base variant features explained — Here’s what you get for Rs 21.90 lakh

Mahindra had revealed its all-new electric SUV, the Mahindra XEV 9e, yesterday at its global debut event in Chennai. Introduced at an introductory starting price of Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai), the base variant of the new XEV 9e seems to be good value for money from the specifications and features that are being offered. Here are the 2025 Mahindra XEV 9e base variant features explained.

Mahindra XEV 9e

To set some context first, the XEV 9e is one of Mahindra’s first set of BEVs that are built on its all-new INGLO skateboard platform. It is powered by a 286PS rear-mounted electric motor with a torque output of 380Nm and a claimed 0-100kmph time of just 6.8 seconds. With a wheelbase of 2,775mm and a boot space of 663 litres, the XEV 9e boasts of lots of space inside the cabin.

Base variant battery and charging time

The Mahindra XEV 9e base variant gets the smaller 59kWh battery pack that comes with a claimed 20% to 80% charging time of 20 minutes when done via a 140kW DC fast charger. The claimed range for the 59kWh battery pack hasn’t been disclosed yet. Notably, the battery is being offered with a lifetime warranty.
