Outline

Hyundai Motor India is gearing up for the Hyundai Creta EV launch, which is expected to take place in mid-2025. The Hyundai Creta EV is going to be the carmaker’s first localised EV, featuring a high-degree of localisation thereby ensuring competitive pricing. The early spy shots reveal little design differences between the EV and ICE Creta models. In this article, we share details about Hyundai Creta EV India launch as well as the top things you need to know about the electric SUV.

Hyundai Creta EV Exterior Design

Needless to say, Hyundai will make considerable changes to the Creta EV’s design, in order to stand it apart from its ICE iteration. Those changes could include different lighting setup, alloy wheels and body panels. The Hyundai Creta EV has been spotted on multiple occasions on the Indian roads. While the Creta facelift has been launched, the Creta EV has been on test long before the launch of the latest Creta facelift. The new images showcase the updated Creta boasting the electric drivetrain. While the models that were spotted were finished in heavy camouflage, they reveal a similar design to the ICE-powered Creta.

2025 Hyundai Creta EV Interior

On the inside, the new Creta already packs a lot of features while incorporating the latest cabin design from Hyundai. The Creta EV is likely to carry over a similar dashboard as the Creta, albeit with some EV-specific changes. However, the space on the inside is not expected to improve substantially, as in the case with born-electric vehicles. On the other hand, the space could take a hit if the battery intrudes into the cabin, which would require further modifications into the platform and floorboard.

2025 Hyundai Creta EV Features

On the features front, the Creta electric is likely to carry over the same set of features that we get to see in the regular ICE-powered Creta. The Creta already comes loaded with all the bells and whistles, which includes features such as powered driver’s seat with ventilation for both driver and passenger, dual 10.25-inch screens, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 360-degree parking camera and level-2 ADAS. The Creta EV could further add more features such as head-up display and EV-specific features such as brake energy regeneration.

2025 Hyundai Creta EV Powertrain

While there is no official confirmation from Hyundai, reports suggest that the 2025 Hyundai Creta EV could come with a 45kWh battery pack. Keeping the costs in check, the Creta EV is likely to boast a single motor powering the front wheels, offering 138PS of power and 255Nm of torque. Given the global range of Hyundai EVs, the Creta EV could offer DC fast charging support via a nose-mounted charging socket, as seen in the spy shots.

2025 Hyundai Creta Launch Timeline

As per our sources, the Hyundai Creta EV launch could take place in the first half of 2025. Based on the spy shots that came out recently, we can judge that the Creta EV is stepping into its final shape, ahead of its series production that is said to begin towards the end of 2024.
