2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB launch date confirmed – Check all details

Mercedes has been launching one car after the other this year, but the one that’s most relevant for the Indian market is undoubtedly the E-Class. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been dominating the luxury sedan market, leaving the other two German marques far behind (the Bavarians might prove to be a tough competitor this time with the 530Li M Sport LWB). Mercedes has now officially confirmed the launch date of the new-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB. Here’s everything you need to know.

New Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB design and styling

The new-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB has a similar silhouette as the outgoing model that was launched back in 2017. It gets new headlights and tail lights that have more character than the ones in the current generation. The new E-Class also gets a revised front grille that is larger than the present one, a new design for the air intakes and freshly-designed alloy wheels. Body lines are more subtle than before and the door handles now flush into the door panels. The new E-Class has a 15mm longer wheelbase than the outgoing generation, and it sits on 18-inch wheels.

2024 Mercedes E-Class interior and features

The new E-Class has a large glass surface as its dashboard that houses a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch co-driver touchscreen. There’s also a digital driver’s display apart from these two screens. The updated E-Class also gets a Burmester sound system, powered front and rear seats, multiple options for the ambient lighting, adjustable under-thigh support for rear passengers, and more. It also gets 8 airbags, ESC, 360-degree cameras, front & rear parking sensors, ADAS, among other safety features that you would expect on a premium German sedan.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB engine options

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class engine options will include a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine. Both of these engines come paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission and a 48V mild-hybrid system that can provide additional power of 23PS and 205Nm of torque.

New E-Class launch date, expected price, and rivals

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB will be launched on October 9, 2024, and is expected to be priced between Rs 80-90 lakh (ex-showroom).
