2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class launched in India — Price starts at Rs 78.50 lakh

Mercedes-Benz has launched the sixth-generation of the E-Class luxury sedan in India, at a starting price of Rs 78.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Being offered in three variants — E200, E220d and E450 4MATIC, the new E-Class gets a longer wheelbase, a larger infotainment system, and a host of tech and safety features. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class. 

New Mercedes-Benz E-Class 

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been launched in its sixth generation in India, in a long wheelbase configuration as before. The new E-Class proposes to be more comfortable and desirable than its previous generation. Mercedes says that the suspension has been specially tuned for Indian road conditions.

Design 

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class looks more elegant than the outgoing generation. While the silhouette is unmistakably that of an E-Class, there are redesigned bumpers, a new front grille, and new front and rear lights that have more character. There’s a new design for the 18-inch alloy wheels too, and a 15mm longer wheelbase over the outgoing E-Class LWB. Body lines are more subtle than before and the door handles now flush into the door panels, in order to aid into aerodynamics.

Engine options

The variant-wise Mercedes-Benz E-Class engine options are as follows:

All the three engines come paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission and a 48-Volt mild-hybrid system that gives the car an additional power boost of 23PS and torque boost of 205Nm.

Interior and features 

The new E-Class has a large glass surface as its dashboard that houses a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch co-driver touchscreen. There’s also a digital driver’s display apart from these two screens. The updated E-Class also gets a Burmester sound system, powered front and rear seats, multiple options for the ambient lighting, adjustable under-thigh support for rear passengers, and more. It also gets 8 airbags, ESC, 360-degree cameras, front & rear parking sensors, ADAS, among other safety features that you would expect on a premium German sedan.

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB variant-wise prices are given in the following table. All prices are introductory and are subject to change.
