Mercedes-Benz has launched the sixth-generation of the E-Class luxury sedan in India, at a starting price of Rs 78.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Being offered in three variants — E200, E220d and E450 4MATIC, the new E-Class gets a longer wheelbase, a larger infotainment system, and a host of tech and safety features. New Mercedes-Benz E-Class
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been launched in its sixth generation in India, in a long wheelbase configuration as before. The new E-Class proposes to be more comfortable and desirable than its previous generation. Mercedes says that the suspension has been specially tuned for Indian road conditions.
Design
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class looks more elegant than the outgoing generation. While the silhouette is unmistakably that of an E-Class, there are redesigned bumpers, a new front grille, and new front and rear lights that have more character. There’s a new design for the 18-inch alloy wheels too, and a 15mm longer wheelbase over the outgoing E-Class LWB. Body lines are more subtle than before and the door handles now flush into the door panels, in order to aid into aerodynamics.

All the three engines come paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission and a 48-Volt mild-hybrid system that gives the car an additional power boost of 23PS and torque boost of 205Nm.
Interior and features
The new E-Class has a large glass surface as its dashboard that houses a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch co-driver touchscreen. There’s also a digital driver’s display apart from these two screens. The updated E-Class also gets a Burmester sound system, powered front and rear seats, multiple options for the ambient lighting, adjustable under-thigh support for rear passengers, and more. It also gets 8 airbags, ESC, 360-degree cameras, front & rear parking sensors, ADAS, among other safety features that you would expect on a premium German sedan.
