2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire to offer sunroof — Design leaked

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new-gen Dzire in November 2024. Ahead of its launch, a new leak from TOI Auto gives us a glimpse of its exterior design, which looks dramatically different from the Swift, like we reported earlier based on the spy shot leaks. And yes, the new Dzire will offer an electric sunroof, making it the second car in the Arena portfolio to offer the crowd favourite feature. 

Maruti Suzuki Dzire to get sunroof and more

The first clear spy shots of the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire clearly reveal the presence of a single-pane electric sunroof. The Dzire will be the first sub-compact sedan in its segment to offer electric sunroof as an official fitment. Kindly note that Tata Motors did offer an option of a sunroof as an accessory in the Tigor for a limited time duration.

Furthermore, the spy shots also reveal other features such as the presence of LED headlights, dual-tone alloy wheels, LED fog lights, shark fin antenna and 360-degree parking camera. The presence of these features will make the new Dzire the most feature loaded sub-compact sedan in its segment. 

Maruti Suzuki Dzire design details

The new spy shots give us a clear glimpse of the new-gen Dzire’s exterior design. At large, the new Dzire doesn’t look similar to the Swift, like in the case of earlier generations of the sub-compact sedan. Its front and rear profiles are all new and a lot fresher over that of the Swift’s. Speaking of the design, at front, the new Dzire features a large radiator grille with horizontal slats, flanked by sweptback LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs. At the rear, it features elongated LED tail lights with a smoked effect and a chrome bar connecting the two clusters. Other details include chrome window surrounds, LED fog lights and dual-tone alloy wheels that could measure 15-inch in size. 

Maruti Suzuki Dzire engine details

The new-gen Dzire will share its 1.2-litre Z-series engine with the new Swift. Replacing the 4-cylinder with the new 3-cylinder engine, the new Dzire will offer enhanced fuel efficiency as well. In the Swift, the new 1.2-litre engine puts out 81PS of power at 5700rpm and 112Nm of torque at 4300rpm. Both the outputs are lower than the outputs of the 1.2-litre K-series engine offered in the ongoing Dzire sedan. The new engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual as well as a 5-speed automated manual transmission.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire launch timeline

Maruti Suzuki is likely to launch the new Dzire in November 2024, closer to the festive season. The new Dzire will go against the likes of the Honda Amaze, which is also due for a generation change next year, alongside the Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor.
