Upcoming SUVs in India at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

It is well-established that the current era is of SUVs, not just in India but globally. There’s a wave of upcoming SUVs in India in the next few months, and a lot of them are going to make their debut at the 2025 Delhi Motor Show, which is now part of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Here’s a list of the upcoming SUVs in India at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Notably, a majority of these SUVs are to come with electric propulsion systems rather than conventional ICE ones.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Suzuki revealed its first electric car in the world at Milan, Italy, and the same will be showcased in India at the Delhi Auto Expo. The new Maruti e Vitara gets a brand-new interior that looks refreshing and premium, along with modern exterior styling.

Hyundai Creta EV

Hyundai has confirmed that it will showcase an electric version of the Creta SUV to replace its now discontinued Kona EV. It has been spied testing multiple times, and is expected to come with a 45kWh battery pack, as per media reports.

2025 Hyundai Tucson

A facelifted Hyundai Tucson was launched in the States a while back, and the same is expected to make its India debut at the Auto Expo. While the changes on the outside of the US-spec Tucson were noticed to be minimal, the cabin saw the return of physical controls and rotary dials for some basic functions.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift

Already launched in certain global markets, a facelifted version of the popular Hyundai Ioniq 5 SUV is expected to make its way to the Expo, too. The Ioniq 5 facelift gets a bigger battery pack and revised design elements, along with a few added features.

Hyundai Ioniq 9

Hyundai is also set to reveal the new Ioniq 9 electric SUV in India at the Motor Show. Based on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform, the upcoming Ioniq 9 is a close relative of the Kia EV9 that was launched in India a few weeks back.

Kia Syros

The Kia Syros was revealed just days ago, and its price announcement is likely to happen at the Auto Expo. The Syros will sit between the Sonet and the Seltos in the carmaker's lineup, and an electric version of the same is also expected to be introduced later.

Mahindra XEV 9e

Launched at a starting price of Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai), the full price list of the new Mahindra XEV 9e is expected to be revealed at the Bharat Mobility Expo. The XEV 9e is one of Mahindra’s first BEVs that have been built on the all-new INGLO modular skateboard platform.

Mahindra BE 6

Along with the Mahindra XEV 9e price announcement, Mahindra is also likely to reveal prices for the new BE 6 electric SUV at the Expo. The Mahindra BE 6 price in India starts at Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai), and comes with two battery pack options — 59KWh and 79kWh.

Mahindra XEV 7e

Some leaked images of the upcoming Mahindra XEV 7e have surfaced online, and it seems like the car shares a lot of bits with the XEV 9e. We expect Mahindra to showcase the 7e at the Expo as well, though they aren’t likely to launch the car at the show.

MG ZS HEV

We expect MG to launch the new generation MG Astor/MG ZS EV in a hybrid avatar, which has already debuted in the UK as the MG ZS HEV. The UK-spec model gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine that is paired to a 1.83kWh battery and a 136PS electric motor. 

Tata Harrier EV

Tata recently confirmed that the upcoming Tata Harrier EV India launch will take place by the end of this financial year, that is, before March 2025. A production-ready version of the Harrier EV is expected to be showcased at the Bharat Mobility Show ahead of its launch.

Tata Sierra EV

Tata has also confirmed to launch the Sierra by the end of 2026, and a production-ready version of the same is expected to be showcased at the Expo. When launched, the Sierra EV will be the manufacturer’s flagship car in the country.

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV

Following the unveiling of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Toyota has also taken the wraps off its version of the electric SUV, called the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV. It is mechanically identical to the Maruti e Vitara, and is likely to accompany it at the Motor Show.

Toyota Fortuner facelift

The Toyota Fortuner might be given another facelift, and we expect it to be showcased at the Auto Expo. It is likely to get a new mild-hybrid engine, apart from the usual styling changes and a few feature additions.

Honda Elevate EV concept

Honda has been working on an electric SUV based on the Elevate, and they are expected to showcase a concept version of the same at the Auto Expo. The actual car isn’t likely to be launched before 2026 though. 

Skoda Enyaq

Skoda is ready to launch its first electric vehicle in India too, the Skoda Enyaq. Built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform, the Enyaq is the sister car of the Volkswagen ID.4. Skoda is yet to reveal the exact specifications of the India-spec Skoda Enyaq electric SUV.

New Skoda Kodiaq

The second generation of the Skoda Kodiaq will be making its India debut at the Expo, and its launch in India has been confirmed by a top executive from Skoda India. It is expected to come with the same turbo-petrol powertrain as the current model.

Volkswagen ID.4

While VW has showcased the ID.4 in India before, it is likely to put it up for display at the 2025 Auto Expo as well. The VW ID.4 will be the German carmaker’s first electric car in the country. VW is yet to reveal the details of the India-spec model.

2025 Volkswagen Tiguan

The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV is already on sale in some international markets, and we expect VW to bring it to the Motor Show. The updated Tiguan will most likely be offered with the same powertrain as of the current model, which consists of a 2.0-litre TSI engine mated to a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION system.

Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ technology

Yes, that’s the full name of the electric G-Wagen that is to be displayed at the Auto Expo soon after its India unveiling on January 9, 2025. The electric G-Wagen is powered by four independent electric motors, one for each wheel.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV Night Series

While the Maybach EQS 680 SUV is already on sale in the country, Mercedes plans to launch the Night Series-spec version too. As the name suggests, the Night Series comes with all sorts of blacked-out elements and touches throughout the exterior, as well as the interior. 

New BMW X3

The next-generation of the BMW X3 is also expected to be revealed at the Expo. The updated BMW X3 SUV gets significant changes to the exterior, a redesigned interior layout, and is bigger than the outgoing model.
