Hyundai Staria luxury MPV showcased at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo — Vellfire-rival
- 1Offered in multiple seating configurations in global markets
- 2Gets a large greenhouse and vertical rear lights
- 3Hyundai is currently gauging customer interest in India
The Indian automotive market has recently seen resounding success of super expensive luxury vans such as the Toyota Vellfire and Kia Carnival. Seeing this sparking demand and to gauge further customer interest, Hyundai has showcased its own version of a luxury MPV in India — the Hyundai Staria — at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025. Here’s what makes this van special.
2025 Hyundai Staria
The Staria has been on sale for some time now in certain global markets, and Hyundai has showcased the same at this year’s Delhi Motor Show. Globally, it is available in multiple seating configurations including 7-seater, 9-seater, and 11-seater options. The van showcased in India was the more premium 7-seater version.
Staria design and styling
The Staria looks like a typical van on the whole, with a brick-like silhouette, albeit with a sloping front face. It features a large greenhouse that alleviates the sense of space on the inside. On the front, the Staria gets a thin LED lightbar, and the rear gets two long vertical lightbars. The ORVMs are rather large-sized and should provide a good view of the rear.

Staria features and interior
The seats have been designed to offer immense comfort, though they do not look as luxurious as the ones on the Vellfire. Key Hyundai Staria features include a 12-speaker Bose sound system, heated and ventilated seats, multiple driving modes, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, rear sunshades, ADAS functionalities, and more.
Staria engine specs
The Hyundai Staria showcased at the Expo got a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine under the hood that gets a claimed power output of 272PS and 331Nm of maximum torque. The Staria is also available with a 2.2-litre diesel engine that puts out 177PS of maximum power and 431Nm of peak torque. There's also the option of a petrol-hybrid setup.
