BYD Sealion 7 EV India launch confirmed — Showcase at Auto Expo 2025

BYD India has announced its key product for the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025 — the new Sealion 7 EV. In addition, BYD has also revealed the Sealion 7 EV India launch timeline along with confirmation on the arrival of other sustainable products at the auto show. BYD Sealion 7 EV India launch timeline

BYD India will launch the Sealion 7 EV in the first quarter of 2025 in the Indian market. It will be positioned above the Seal EV and offer a coupe SUV bodystyle that is rather popular in the market at this point in time. In order to expand its reach in India, BYD has also announced its expansion plan, taking the count from 27 to 40 dealerships across the country.

BYD Sealion 7 EV specifications

Talking about the battery and motor specifications, the Sealion 7 EV packs a battery pack capacity of up to 91.30kWh that channels power to two electric motors, making the Sealion 7 EV an all-wheel-drive SUV. As a result, it can sprint from 0-100kmph in 4.5 seconds and also offer an intelligent traction control system for ease of driving on different driving conditions. We are yet to get battery and motor specifications of the India-spec Sealion 7 EV, which should be announced at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025.

BYD Sealion 7 EV features

Like other BYD models, the BYD Sealion 7 EV will come packed with a slew of features. The key features include a swiveling 15.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, a glass panoramic sunroof, LED headlights and tail lights, 360-degree parking camera, surround sound system and more. Needless to say, the features on the India-spec model may slightly differ, however, we expect key features such as adaptive dampers, drive models and safety suite to be offered.

In addition to the Sealion 7 EV, BYD India will also showcase other global products at the auto expo. The models that are said to be showcased at the auto show are still under the wraps but expect a mix of global products and future concepts to mark their presence at BYD’s pavilion at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025.
