When you think of a car manufacturer that delivers on style, reliability, and affordability, Hyundai is a name that immediately comes to mind. The South Korean giant has been doing extensively well in the Indian market since the Santro was first launched in 1998. Since then, Hyundai has given interested buyers some of the most powerful and economical cars in the market. Despite stiff competition from Tata Motors, Hyundai Motor India Ltd continues to be the second-largest car manufacturer in the country. And to consolidate its foothold in the market, it plans to introduce a host of new models in the coming future. Keeping that in mind, let’s look at Hyundai upcoming cars in India in 2023 and 2024.
1. New Hyundai Verna
Among the new generation models, the first Hyundai new car launch of 2023 in the mainstream segment will be the all-new Hyundai Verna. The fourth generation of the traditional Honda City and Skoda Slavia rival will be bigger and look bolder than the outgoing model. The new Hyundai Verna will have added features such as ADAS and will be even more powerful than its earlier variants. Replacing the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine of the outgoing model, will be a more powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit belting out 160 hp. However, the rest of the engine options will be the same as its predecessor. This would make the Verna the only car in its segment to offer a diesel engine with both manual and automatic transmission.

The power/torque output could range from 170 PS / 350 Nm to 305 PS / 605 Nm depending on the spec that makes it to our market. The EV is expected to charge from 0-100 percent in about 9-10 hours. However, Hyundai will also include a quick charge option that will significantly reduce the charge time to about 4-5 hours. On a full charge, the Hyundai future car could offer up to 280 km of range.
