With prices of petrol and diesel shattering every record, there is an increased focus on quicker adoption of vehicles powered by alternative energy sources. Tata Motors has already been at the forefront of the EV market, but Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest-selling carmaker, doesn't quite feel it's the right time to introduce electric vehicles. Some other carmakers mirror the same thought, so CNG is the immediate way forward to attract car buyers looking for ultra-low running costs.
