1. Maruti Jimny 5-door
After being revealed at the Auto Expo 2023, the 5-door Maruti Jimny will finally go on sale in June 2023. While the global model has a 3-door design, the Jimny for India has a 5-door design. The Gypsy replacement gets the same 1.5L petrol engine that is found on the new Ciaz and the last-gen Vitara Brezza. The engine is tuned to offer 103 bhp of power and 138 Nm of torque and will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission system. A Four-Wheel-Drive system will come as standard in all models for better control on all terrains. Some other features that could make it onto the Jimny are six airbags, a 7-inch infotainment system, automatic LED headlamps, automatic climate control, ESP or Electronic Stability Program, hill hold and hill descent control, and TC or Traction Control.

2. Honda Engage
Honda Cars India is all set to launch a new SUV that will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The new model, dubbed Honda Engage, will share its engine and transmission options with the Honda City, which means the new SUV will have a 1.5-litre petrol engine that will churn out over 119 bhp and 148 Nm. At a later stage, it could even get a hybrid engine option to help it take on its diesel-powered rivals. Other cars that the upcoming SUV will rival include the Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and MG Astor. This will be the same hybrid setup available on the City, i.e. a 1.5L Atkinson cycle engine with an electric motor.

6. Mahindra eKUV100
While the regular KUV100 is a thing of the past, it is about to be resurrected in an exciting EV format! The electric variant, which is called the eKUV100, will become Mahindra’s most affordable zero-emission vehicle. The car is expected to feature a similar powertrain as the concept Mahindra eVerito which was unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo. Powering the eKUV 100 will be a 15.9kWh Lithium-ion battery that will give the compact SUV a range of 147 Kms on a full battery. Another important new car launch in India 2023 under 10 lakhs is the electric version of the Tata Punch. The new model will be positioned between the Tiago EV and the Nexon EV. However, it will be a more modern offering than the Tiago as well as the Nexon due to its ALFA-ARC platform. 10. Honda Amaze CNG
With the advent of the Amaze facelift more than a year ago, Honda stopped offering a diesel engine option on its most affordable offering in the market. So, as of now, the Honda Amaze is sold only with a petrol engine option. Meanwhile, all its rivals (read: Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor) offer a CNG option. Soon, though, even the Honda Amaze will get a CNG variant that could have a starting price of around ₹7.5 lakh (ex-showroom). While not a lot of details are available at this stage, the Amaze will likely launch in both manual and automatic versions. With this, the Amaze would become the only CNG model in its segment to come with an automatic option.

11. Hyundai i20 CNG
The Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS and the Aura received CNG variants over a year ago. Now, though, the South Korean carmaker is preparing to launch a CNG version of the i20 premium hatchback. It may be noted here that with the discontinuation of the diesel model, having a CNG version that offers ultra-low running costs has become imperative. The new fuel variant of the i20 should go on sale by AUgust 2023 and have a starting price of roughly ₹7.5 lakh. Like the NIOS, it will have a 1.2-litre petrol+CNG motor outputting 69 PS and 95 Nm.
