Toyota Cars entered the Indian market in 1997 through a joint venture with the Kirloskar Group, forming Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM). The company is headquartered in Bidadi, Karnataka, where its manufacturing facilities are located. The brand made its Indian debut in 2000 with the launch of the Toyota Qualis. In 2005, Toyota introduced the Innova, replacing the Qualis and setting new benchmarks in the MPV segment. This was followed by the launch of the Fortuner SUV in 2009. 

To expand its portfolio, Toyota has even introduced rebadged models in collaboration with Suzuki. The Glanza (2019) and Urban Cruiser (2020) were among the first in this partnership, followed by the Urban Cruiser Hyryder in 2022, featuring Toyota’s Hybrid System. In 2017, the company introduced its luxury division, Lexus, in India, catering to premium buyers.

The most affordable model in Toyota’s lineup is the Maruti Baleno-based Glanza, priced between ₹6.86 lakh and ₹10 lakh. It is followed by the Maruti Fronx-based Taisor, a compact SUV available from ₹7.74 lakh to ₹13.04 lakh. Toyota also offers the Maruti Ertiga-based Rumion, a spacious MPV priced between ₹10.44 lakh and ₹13.73 lakh.

For buyers seeking SUVs, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder starts at ₹11.14 lakh and goes up to ₹19.99 lakh, offering a hybrid option as well. The Innova Crysta, known for its reliability, is available from ₹19.99 lakh to ₹26.55 lakh, while prices of the more premium Urban Cruiser Hycross ranges from ₹19.94 lakh to ₹31.34 lakh.

Toyota Hilux is priced between ₹30.40 lakh and ₹37.90 lakh. The popular Fortuner starts at ₹33.43 lakh and goes up to ₹51.94 lakh, with the Legender models priced between ₹43.66 lakh and ₹47.64 lakh. For luxury segment, Toyota offers the Camry at ₹48 lakh, the Vellfire between ₹1.22 crore and ₹1.32 crore, and the Land Cruiser 300 at ₹2.10 crore.

Toyota SUV cars in India cater to a wide range of buyers, from compact SUV enthusiasts to premium car buyers.  The most affordable SUV in the range is the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, priced between ₹11.14 lakh and ₹19.99 lakh. It is available with petrol and hybrid powertrains, making it an efficient and eco-friendly choice. For buyers seeking a rugged and powerful SUV, the Toyota Fortuner remains a popular option. Priced between ₹33.43 lakh and ₹51.94 lakh, it is known for its robust design, off-road capability, and high reliability. Toyota also offers the Fortuner Legender, a more stylish and feature-packed version, priced between ₹43.66 lakh and ₹47.64 lakh.

At the top of the SUV range is the Land Cruiser, an iconic nameplate that offers unmatched luxury, performance and reliability. It’s priced at ₹2.10 crore. Toyota Sedan Cars

When we talk about Toyota sedan cars in India, the Camry is currently the only option available. Upcoming Toyota Cars

Toyota is set to expand its lineup in India with several new models across different segments. The upcoming launches include hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs, and EVs. It is expected to be priced between ₹8-12 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand is also planning to launch the Belta, a sedan based on the Maruti Ciaz, within the same price range.

Toyota will also strengthen its SUV and EV portfolio with the Urban Cruiser EV, based on the Maruti eVitara. Expected to be priced between ₹22-26 lakh, this fully electric SUV will be Toyota’s first electric car in India. At the luxury end of the market, Toyota plans to introduce the bZ4X electric SUV, priced between ₹70-74 lakh, and the Land Cruiser Prado, expected to cost ₹1-1.2 crore.
