  1. Visit the Parivahan website on your phone or laptop via a web browser.

  • The Motor Vehicle Act 1988 mandates a valid driving licence in order to drive any motor vehicle on public roads. 
  • There are two stages to get a Permanent Driving Licence.

  • In order to acquire a learner’s licence in Andhra Pradesh, the applicant must be at least 16 years of age to drive a motorcycle up to 50cc. Form 2 needs to be duly filled out in order to acquire this kind of licecne. For motorcycles and other LMVs above 50cc, the minimum age requirement is 18 years.
  • The validity of a permanent driving licence in Andhra Pradesh, in case of non-transport vehicles, is 20 years from the date of issue, or until the licence holder attains the age of 50 years.  Post this, the licence is valid for 5 years and needs to be renewed before it expires.
  • In order to acquire a transport/commercial vehicle licence, the applicant must be  20 years old, and must have at least one year of experience in operating LMVs.
