Later in 2016, Renault introduced the 1.0-litre engine paired with a 5-speed manual or the option of an AMT transmission, though it was exclusively offered in the top end RXT and RXT (O) variants.

• Choosing Between 0.8-litre and 1.0-litre: The 0.8-litre variants of the Kwid between the years 2016 - 2019 are more prevalent in the used car market, given their lower price point.
