The five best selling used cars list in Lucknow in 2024 was dominated by hatchbacks, with the only exception being the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire compact sedan, which was the best selling used sedan in the city.

Maruti Suzuki was also the leading brand by far in the top-five list, with four out of five positions being held by the carmaker. Additionally,  second hand petrol cars in Lucknow were the clear preference for buyers along with manual transmissions.

1. Maruti Suzuki Swift | 5% Used Market Share in Lucknow

The Maruti Suzuki Swift was the best selling used vehicle in Lucknow in 2024, with a 5% market share. The used Maruti Suzuki Swift in Lucknow was an appealing choice for buyers thanks to its sporty design, reliability, and commendable fuel efficiency. The Swift's compact size makes it ideal for navigating Lucknow's bustling streets, while its reputation for low maintenance costs further enhance its desirability. 

Our internal data reveals that 62% of used Swift buyers opted for the petrol engine, while 92% preferred having a manual gearbox over the automatic. 

2. Hyundai Grand i10 | 4% Used Market Share in Lucknow

With a 4% market share, the Grand i10 was the best selling used Hyundai in Lucknow in 2024. Thanks to the Grand i10’s modern aesthetics and feature-rich interiors, it managed to appeal to a lot of used buyers in Lucknow. 

The availability of both petrol and diesel variants provides flexibility for buyers, but those opting for a second hand Hyundai Grand i10 in Lucknow, clearly 85% preferred the used petrol engine variant over the diesel’s added efficiency and torque. Similarly, 96% of buyers picked a used Grand i10 with the affordable manual transmission. 

3. Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire | 4% Used Market Share in Lucknow

The Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire secured a 4% market share in Lucknow's used car segment in 2024, making it the city’s most popular used sedan. The pre owned Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire offers additional boot space, making it an attractive option for families and individuals requiring extra luggage capacity. 

With the Swift Dzire, buyers leaned more toward one engine option. 69% of all used Swift Dzire buyers in Lucknow last year preferred the diesel option, and 99% of them opted for a manual transmission. On the whole, the Dzire's efficient fuel consumption and Maruti's trusted brand reputation further contributed to its popularity among used car buyers in the city.

4. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R 1.0 | 4% Used Market Share in Lucknow

With a 4% market share, the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R 1.0 was the fourth best selling used car in Lucknow in 2024. It offers a spacious interior, providing ample headroom and comfortable seating. Also, the fact that the Wagon R is one of the most fuel efficient cars in India, and its low maintenance costs make it an economical choice for daily commuting. 

The efficient 1.0-liter petrol engine accounted for 67% of all used Maruti Suzuki Wagon Rs in Lucknow last year, with the rest being CNG/LPG variants. However, the transmission preference was a lot more pronounced, with 94% of all buyers opting for the manual gearbox in the Wagon R.

5. Maruti Suzuki Baleno | 4% Used Market Share in Lucknow

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno achieved a 4% market share among used cars in Lucknow in 2024. The Baleno is Lucknow’s favorite used premium hatchback, preferred for its spacious interiors and premium features. A pre owned Maruti Suzuki Baleno offers a comfortable and upscale driving experience. Its sleek design and advanced safety features appeal to buyers seeking a modern and stylish hatchback. 

In the used market, the Baleno is available with petrol or diesel engines, but 86% of buyers preferred the petrol hatchback. As for the transmission preference, 97% of buyers opted for a manual Baleno.
