Hyundai was second with its used hatchback cars making up the highest volume. Tata managed to overtake Honda in 2024 for third place with higher sales of its compact offerings finding many buyers. Honda maintained its share but was in fourth. Mahindra placed fifth with its selection of SUVs.

The Swift Dzire compact sedan was in second place with 9.2% share, while the versatile Wagon R 1.0 was the third best selling model with a share of 9%.

2) Hyundai | 21.5% Used Car Market Share in Lucknow

Hyundai took second place with 21.5% share. Used Hyundai cars in Lucknow witnessed a marginal increase over 2023. These sales numbers were driven by hatchbacks which were the most popular thanks to the features and equipment on offer, along with Hyundai India’s growing network.

The Grand i10 was the highest selling Hyundai used car model in 2024 with 19.5% share. Its choice of petrol and diesel engines made it popular. The i10 was in second place with 13.7% share with a choice of manual and automatic transmission options appealing to buyers. The Hyundai Elite i20 was in a close third place, taking 13.5% share thanks to its sporty design and vast choice of engines and variants.

These aspects have helped Tata carve out 7.6% share of the pie in Lucknow and make their way to third place. Its variety of models, distinct styling, and feature lists helped the brand grow in the used car market.

The Tiago compact hatchback was the best selling of all Tata used cars in Lucknow with 26.1% share. The Tiago’s size, handling and practicality make it an appealing urban choice. The Tigor compact sedan was in second place having made up a 13.5% share and adding to the sedan tally. The Nexon compact SUV was in third place with 12.3% of Tata second hand car sales in Lucknow.

Honda used cars in Lucknow maintained the brand’s share compared to 2023, it was relegated to fourth place with a share of 7.5%. Honda cars are recognised for their reliability and efficiency, and are also fun to drive. The sedans were the highest selling models by a huge margin.

The Amaze compact sedan was the best selling used Honda car with a huge 36.8% share. The next highest seller was the larger and more premium sedan Honda City with 31.6% share. The third best seller was the Jazz hatchback which made up 7.2% of Honda second hand car sales in Lucknow.

5) Mahindra | 5.5% Used Car Market Share in Lucknow

SUVs are extremely popular in north India and have helped Mahindra stay in fifth place in Lucknow, retaining a consistent 5.5% share of the used car market. The demand for used Mahindra cars in Lucknow is still very strong. The local Indian SUV brand is known for making tough, safe and robust cars.
