According to recent data, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Honda, and Tata emerged as the best-selling used car brands in Hyderabad in 2024. Let’s explore their market performance, key models, and year-on-year trends.
The Best Selling Used Car Brands in Hyderabad
As per the latest data, Maruti Suzuki maintained its dominance in Hyderabad’s used car market in 2024, securing the top spot by a comfortable margin. Hyundai and Honda held on to their second and third positions, while Tata took the fourth spot. Ford rounded out the top five, thanks to sustained demand for the EcoSport and Figo despite the brand’s exit from the Indian market.
Hatchbacks remain the most popular body type among used car buyers in Hyderabad, with the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai i10 leading the pack. However, the rising demand for compact SUVs like the Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport signals a noticeable shift toward more practical and rugged vehicles in the city’s used car market.

2. Hyundai – 22.5% Market Share

Hyundai secured the second spot in Hyderabad with a 22.5% share in 2024, slightly down from 23.0% in 2023. Despite this, key models maintained consistent demand.
The i10 remained the best-selling used Hyundai car in Hyderabad, accounting for 17.84% of the brand’s sales — up from 17.2% in 2023. The Grand i10 followed with 13.02%, marking a rise from 11.9%. The Elite i20, at 11.59%, remained stable compared to last year.
On a national level, used Hyundai cars holds a 21.8% share of the market, with the i10 standing out as the top-performing Hyundai hatchback, commanding a 26% market share.

The Tiago led Tata’s lineup of used cars in Hyderabad with 23.75% of the brand’s sales, slightly up from 23.6% in 2023. The Nexon posted the most significant growth, rising to 17.03% from 11.2% — a sign of the increasing demand for compact SUVs.
