The Swift dropped slightly to 13.28% from 14.7% in 2023, but demand stayed strong because of its sporty feel and resale confidence. The Swift Dzire rose from 5.9% to 7.89%, likely driven by app-based cab operators and daily office commuters who needed boot space. Maruti’s value-driven image kept all three models in heavy rotation across used car lots in Pune. Buyers who prioritise peace of mind and cost-effective ownership continued to find Maruti’s offerings unmatched.

2. Hyundai | 21.8% Market Share In Pune

Hyundai’s position as the second-most popular used car brand in Pune remained steady thanks to its consistent lineup of compact hatchbacks. The Korean automaker appealed to urban commuters who wanted comfort and practicality without breaking the bank. The i10 continued to lead with a 15.68% share despite a dip from 19.9% in 2023. Easy maintenance and availability make it a crowd favourite. 

The Santro Xing came in at 12.89%, down from 15.2% in 2023, though second hand Hyundai cars in Pune still see high demand older residential zones. The Grand i10 grew from 10.4% to 11.87%, helped by its roomy cabin and better ride quality compared to entry-level rivals. 3. Tata | 9% Market Share In Pune

Tata Motors saw consistent traction in Pune’s used car segment, largely because of its appeal to budget-conscious buyers who didn’t want to compromise on safety or practicality. Old Tata cars in Pune consisted of a clear trio of budget options. The Tiago led the charge with 16.08%, up from 13.6%, as newer-gen models continued to enter the resale pool. The Nano, despite its phase-out, still held 15.31% of Tata’s share thanks to ultra-low pricing and city maneuverability. 

The Nexon gained traction at 10.72%, up from 8.1%, indicating growing acceptance of subcompact SUVs among Pune’s young professionals. These models not only delivered on affordability but also reflected Tata’s newer focus on stronger build quality and better safety ratings. While Honda’s overall share dipped, its top three models still showed decent pull in 2024. The City claimed 41.1% of all Honda sales, down slightly from 43.9%—still a dominant figure. The Amaze dropped to 13.83% from 14.9% in 2023, but stayed relevant for buyers wanting a compact, no-nonsense sedan. The Jazz rose to 9.28% from 6.6%, helped by its strong practicality and mature handling. Pre owned Honda cars in Pune held their ground largely because of engine refinement and reliability. 5. Ford | 4.03% Market Share In Pune

Despite Ford’s exit from India, its reputation for robust build quality and engaging driving dynamics has sustained demand for its models in Pune’s used car market. Even after Ford ceased India operations, its used cars stayed in demand across Pune. The Figo jumped to 30.82% of Ford’s used car sales in 2024 in Pune, up from 27%. Many buyers still trust its driving dynamics and build. 

The EcoSport dipped slightly to 23.29% from 27.3%, though availability helped it remain a viable SUV option. The Fiesta also grew to 19.52% from 16.4%, as many value-focused buyers considered it an underrated alternative. While concerns around parts availability and service linger, buyers who value Ford’s driving DNA still showed up in large numbers. These models especially appeal to younger drivers and enthusiasts looking for something engaging yet affordable.
